Albitum specialises in industrial roofing for flat roofs and has been part of the Willemen Group for over 50 years. The company primarily works on projects for businesses, apartment blocks, industrial buildings and larger new-build and renovation projects. With around forty employees, Albitum consciously focuses on stable growth, high-quality execution and close on-site supervision. This hands-on approach translates into short lines of communication, extensive use of in-house staff and close monitoring of the sites.

Albitum recently made the switch from a local server environment to the Microsoft Azure cloud.

The reason for this was clear: working on an outdated physical server environment came with its fair share of limitations. The move to the cloud was intended to provide greater stability, flexibility and future-proofing. We have certainly succeeded in this.

As with any IT project, the transition was not entirely without its challenges, but overall Albitum looks back on the process positively.

“The switch actually went very smoothly, though naturally there were a few bumps along the way. But today everything is running in the cloud and we are very pleased with that.”

Since the transition, the entire company has been operating from the new cloud environment.
