It’s over: the first edition of our Build-Software customer day! On Thursday, September 29, we welcomed our customers and partners to the beautiful construction campus in Diepenbeek. Embuild’s innovative campus was the perfect location for the occasion.
We are proud to look back on a successful customer day. Our guests were immersed in the world of Build-Software, focusing on digitization, technology and our best of breed approach.
We were pleased to welcome a number of interesting speakers. Chris Slaets, managing director of Embuild Limburg welcomed our guests and explained his vision for the future of construction. We then gave the floor to Vince Feytons, construction transformation consultant at Embuild Limburg. Vince zoomed in on the challenges you face as a construction company in transformation. Of course, an update of Build-Software was not to be missed and Hans Verbeek of Microsoft, made the translation of the modern workplace for construction.
The highlight of the afternoon was when we had our client APK Group speak. Paul Kerkhofs, owner of APK Group, spoke candidly about the issues surrounding the IT architecture of a multidisciplinary construction company like APK Group. A market leader in the rapidly evolving world of intelligent road infrastructure, energy, water and telecom networks, waste treatment and sustainable building construction, APK Group has more than 50 entities in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Luxembourg. Managing more than 90 business units with different value-chains as “1 company” is no easy task, according to Paul Kerkhofs. Using a best of breed approach, the proprietary IT architecture with data warehouse is linked with various applications. This proved to be the best approach for APK Group’s IT infrastructure. And surely we are quite proud of that!
And there was also something to experience. With a demo of the HoloLens, our clients were introduced to the digital twin of a construction project. Walking around a building that is not quite finished, while all the important information appears from Build by pointing something with your fingers. That was a real experience.
Thursday, Oct. 6. That was the date of a second – and, for now, last – edition of our customer day at the Zulte-Waregem stadium. For this edition, we had invited Thomas De Vogelaere, general manager of Willy Naessens Industriebouw as a client to bring his story. An interesting testimonial from a construction company in the region. By the way, did you know that Willy Naessens built Zulte-Waregem’s beautiful stadium ? That can’t be a coincidence !
A warm thank you to our (guest) speakers and to all the clients and partners who attended.
